The Struggle is Real People!

The Many Shades of a Trail Runner

What does it even mean to be a runner?

I can't tell you how many times I've asked myself this question.

When I first started to run it was to lose the after having babies weight, then it was for emotional release, back to loosing weight and emotional release, a seesaw from one to the other with occasionally both at the same time.

Along the way the trails slowly bled into my soul and became about the feeling of joy, peace and rightness when I'm out there.

The Struggle is Real!

Don't get me wrong there are lots of times when I'm like "what the What?" why is this so hard? It's so hot! It's so cold, so wet, so rainy, I have to pee! I have a wedgie, Wait I have to pee again! Dam mosquitos! The struggle is real people.

Then It Happens

Your out in the trails, your totally comfortable, theres no wedgie, you've out run the mosquitos and all other irritations, just feeling like you are flowing with the terrain, the sights, smells, sounds and its nirvana. 10 seconds later you have to pee and the struggle starts all over again..

But for those few moments of the sights, smells and total bliss feeling come to the forefront of your memory and remind you why we are here.... Well until you have to pee AGAIN!!!!
